Head Coach

Ben Harley took over as head coach at Valley Catholic in the 2017-2018 school year and led the Valiants to a playoff appearance that season. Previous to coaching at Valley Catholic high school he assisted at Milwaukie, Rex Putnam and Peoria high schools serving in a multitude of positions. Coach Harley played collegiality at Olympic College and Cabrillo College. Following his time there he transferred to Oregon State University where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in English and then completed his masters in teaching at Lewis and Clark College.

Infield Coach

Dan Cooper joined the Valiants coaching staff in the 2017-2018 season and is in charge of the infielders. Coach Cooper graduated from Sherwood high school where he was an integral part of several playoff qualifying teams. Following high school Coach Cooper played collegiality at College of the Siskiyous, Southwestern Oregon Community College and he finished his playing career at University of Concordia, Nebraska. During his playing time he played 2B, SS and 3B.

Pitching Coach: Steve Harley joined the Valiants coaching staff in the 2017-2018 season and is the programs pitching coach. Coach Harley comes to Valley Catholic after being a member of the Rex Putnam and LaSalle high school coaching staffs in recent years, serving in several different roles. Coach Harley previously lead the Rex Putnam Junior State team to a state championship in the summer of 2015.

Outfield Coach

Bryce Sarber Joined the Valiants coaching staff in 2017-2018 season and is in charge of the outfielders. Coach Sarber graduated from Franklin Pierce University with a degree in Graphic Communications and a minor in Advertising. While attending FPU, Coach Sarber was a member of the DII Ravens baseball team. After an injury ended his collegiate career, Coach Sarber joined the coaching staff as a Student Assistant Coach for the FPU Ravens JV baseball team. Coach Sarber and his wife Kelly relocated to the Beaverton area in April of 2017 from Rhode Island.
