Computer Science | Vibha Nayyar was born and raised in India. She graduated from Portland State University with a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering in 1996. She worked as a component design engineer at Intel Corporation for seven years. Her experience as a STEM educator includes two years of teaching undergraduate engineering courses at Gujarat University, India, working as a graduate teaching and research assistant at PSU, and teaching electronics engineering technology course labs at Portland Community College. Since 2014, she has inspired elementary, middle and high school students while working as a computer programming instructor at Saturday Academy, Portland. She has enjoyed teaching after school programming classes at Valley Catholic Elementary school since 2015. Vibha and her husband, Raman, have two sons who have both attended Valley Catholic High school. In her spare time, Vibha enjoys cooking, painting and spending time with family and friends.
