Science | Gina Portillo joined Valley Catholic’s faculty in 2013 and teaches chemistry, advanced chemistry and AP chemistry. Gina earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Portland (UP) and a master’s in education, also from UP. Since graduating in 2011, Gina has taught almost all sciences—chemistry, advanced chemistry, general chemistry, physics, biology, advanced biology, and physical science—at five local high schools and tutored in all sciences and Spanish. She has prepared students for the Ocean Bowl, National Science Bowl, Science Olympiad, and worked in the Training Interdisciplinary Educational Scientists (TIES) program. Gina was licensed to scuba dive before she got her driver’s license and enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, and everything about the ocean.
