From their earliest days on our campus, our students enjoy activities that enrich their education and their lives.
Valley Catholic Early Learning School
On field trips, our children enjoy visits to children’s theatre productions, parks, OMSI, the Oregon Zoo, ice skating rinks, and a pumpkin patch, among others. Our all-school activities include schoolwide prayer each Monday and Friday morning, ice cream socials, a Christmas program, goal-setting and assessment, and conferences.
We strongly encourage parents to become involved in our program by participating in classroom activities and attending school functions and fundraisers including the annual auction to benefit Valley Catholic School serving infants through 12th grade. We plan many special events for parents, families and children; and we are always happy to welcome parents during our daily activities.
Valley Catholic Elementary School
Students at Valley Catholic Elementary School have the opportunity to participate in a variety of different educational and formative activities. Many of our students enjoy serving on our Student Council which builds community within our school and provides service to the school and to the Beaverton area.
Music plays an important role in our school and on our campus. The Marian Singers – a special school choir – meets during lunch. Youth orchestra and handbells are offered as after-school activities. Valley Catholic Music School offers private music lessons for voice and instruments. These lessons can be scheduled during the school day or after school.
Extracurricular sports are sponsored by the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) and include football, volleyball, lacrosse, basketball, swimming, and track and field. One non-CYO sport opportunity we offer in the fall is cross country.
After school, we offer our school space to a number of outside groups that provide activities for our students. We’ve tried to select diverse offerings so that all of our students might find something of interest.
Held each January, Grandparents and Special Friends Day is one of the highlights of our school year.
Valley Catholic Middle School
At the middle school level, students can get involved in many extracurricular activities to enhance and enrich their experience. Opportunities exist to earn a school letter, tutor younger children, work as an altar server at Masses, join a book club, learn conflict management, attend dances, participate in musical ensembles, work as a teacher’s assistant, compete in Math and Science tournaments, lead in student government and much more. The school also has an active spiritual life program with regular liturgies, prayer services, retreats and service projects.
Valley Catholic High School
At our high school, not only will you get a stellar, college-prep education, you can have fun while you’re doing it. Faculty and staff encourage students to find their niche and express themselves in new ways. Maybe you’ll want to take up the student newspaper, try your hand at badminton or find meaning in service work.
