Dear Parents,

We are very excited to see our students perform at the upcoming Band, Choir and Orchestra concerts. In addition, they will be sharing their artistic talents at the art fair. Each of the concerts includes a combination of middle and high school students. This way, each performer, as well as audience members can enjoy and experience the progression of skill development that begins with the sixth grade class and continues through honors high school ensembles. We do hope your family is able to join us for an evening of song and art. Band, Orchestra and Choir performances will take place in the HS Auditorium and the Art Fair will be held in the high school cafeteria.

  • Choir performs on Wednesday, December 11 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Band performs on Thursday, December 12at 7:00 p.m.
  • Orchestra performs on Wednesday, December 18 at 7:00 p.m.
  • The Art Fair will also be held on Wednesday, December 18 at 7:00 p.m.

In addition, we are in the middle of our annual food drive, which is a tradition dating back to at least the 1980s.  In an effort to help plan and coordinate donations, a sign-up list was emailed to each student’s VCStudent account. The sign-up list is also posted on the community group teacher’s webpage.  We ask that parents help their students sign up for a specific item using their first and last name. If you have any questions, or are available to help, please contact your child’s community group teacher and thank you for your generosity.

Last but not least, while the staff and I appreciate parents who prioritize school, we want students healthy and ready to learn.  Sick students are rarely able to absorb much (if any) of the lesson and they risk spreading their illness to other students and staff.  If your child fears falling behind, please reassure him/her that many teachers have posted lessons on Google Classroom– for those who are well enough to work on them.  Otherwise, adjustments will be made upon their return to school.

Also, if your child is sick – or will miss school for one or more classes – please contact Mrs. Attinasi at [email protected] or 503-718-6500.  She will forward the information onto the teachers. Thanks for your help in this matter

We look forward to seeing all of you at next week’s Christmas Concerts and Art Fair.
