I would like to start out by congratulating our Future City team who spent last week representing Valley Catholic Middle School at the National Finals competition in Washington D.C. These students competed against teams from across the United States, Canada, China, and Egypt. We are very proud of them and all their hard work. Please join me in congratulating them for their outstanding performance!
This Saturday, March 2, is our 52nd annual speech tournament. The tournament began in 1967 when Sister Rose Dolores and Sister Mary Fidelis of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon created what is now the Valley Catholic Annual Speech Tournament. This is the largest middle school event, requiring over 150 volunteers who help with everything from judging to serving lunch. Thank you to everyone who is donating their time as we could not run such a successful tournament without all of the help. Saturday should prove to be a very special day and I look forward to seeing the students and their families as we share in this event.
