Dear VCMS Families,

I want to invite you to become active participants in our end of the year adventures, activities and events. Plans are already well underway and we are all looking forward to enjoying this time together.

Valley Catholic Middle and High School students will be performing their spring concerts this month. We hope you will be able to join us for these musical performances. All concerts will be held in the high school auditorium.

The concert schedule is as follows:

  • Choir – Wednesday, May 9, 7 p.m.
  • Band – Thursday, May 10, 7 p.m.
  • Orchestra – Wednesday, May 16, 7 p.m.

In addition, the Middle School Musical Theater (Glee) and Art Fair will be held on Wednesday, May 30, at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, May 18, the seventh-grade class will spend the day at the Oregon coast exploring tide pools, wave watching, and enjoying a bay cruise as part of their “Wondrous Waves” curriculum. For additional information, please refer to the April 30 email.

The eighth-grade graduation get away will be held at Horning’s Hideout on Thursday, May 31. We are looking for help with planning, set-up, activities and food preparation. Parent help is also needed at the venue prior to our arrival. If you are interested in helping, please email Mrs. Gfroerer at jgfroerer@valleycatholic.org.

Plans are well underway for our eighth-grade graduation Mass on Friday, June 8, at 7:00 p.m. We are looking for family members of our graduates who would like to be part of the Mass and ceremony. If you would like to be a greeter, pass out programs, serve on the altar, sing in the Mass choir or serve as a Eucharistic Minister, please contact Julee Richards at jrichards@valleycatholic.org. Eucharistic Ministers and altar servers must have previous experience which included training at their parish or Valley Catholic School. Siblings of the graduates will receive first priority for these roles.

Detailed information will be shared with the students at school and communicated to parents via email prior to the events. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Jen Gfroerer
Principal
