Secret ingredients and staple flavors – smoky, spicy, savory, maybe even sweet.

Family recipes and modern creations – guarded with secrecy or refined with care.

These are the makings of a great pot of chili and, now that fall is in the air, you know it’s time for Valley Catholic School’s annual Chili Cook-Off.

A tradition at Valley Catholic, the Chili Cook-off  takes place on Senior Night: the last home football game of the season. This year, the cook-off will take place as the Valiants welcome Tillamook on Friday, Oct. 20.

Register your chili now and make plans to join us at the 2017 cook-off.

Simply email your name, contact information and the name of your chili to Valley Catholic Middle School Vice Principal Dale French by Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Service hours are available: Students and parents who volunteer for the event or enter a chili may receive service hours for their participation. Stop by your school office for additional details.

Outstanding prizes include: VCS Gala Tickets, VC gear, campus bragging rights, gift cards, bronze, silver and gold ladles and more!

The chilis will be served beginning at 6:00 p.m. in front of the Baek Family Fieldhouse until the delicious creations are gone. Then settle in and watch your VC Valiant football team take on the Tillamook Cheesemakers.

At halftime, prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place – and we’ll be recognizing the most creatively named chili.

Come enjoy a delicious evening under the lights!
