I am writing this letter on September 12. The 2017-2018 academic school year began a week ago and the Valley Catholic Music School just finished its staff meeting. The music hall is humming with the excitement of starting another school year. Lessons will begin on September 18.

We would like to welcome you to a year of music that enriches the soul, feeds the mind, and warms the heart.

There are many musical activities that our students participate in throughout the year: the most evident are the weekly lessons by an exceptional staff, three recitals per year, the OMEA Festival (Oregon Music Education Association), the OMTA Festival (Oregon Music Teachers Association),Young Artist Recital (by invitation), scholarship auditions, adjudications, and our Summer Music Camp.

The beauty of music in our lives is that it brings sanity to an otherwise insane pace of life.

As Albert Schweitzer put it so well: “There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats.“
