It's been a busy week in the Elementary School! This week we celebrated the success of our Jog-a-thon, and we will finish the week with the Halloween Carnival. We're grateful for your participation and presence in the life of the school!

The 2014 Halloween Carnival will be held on Friday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Eagles Gym. Students, families, and friends are invited to attend. Costumes are optional but encouraged!
The VCES Student Council has planned its first activity of the year—a pumpkin decorating contest!
Look for us next week at the VCEMS curb and in the VCELS lobby on Monday and Tuesday morning. On Wednesday and Thursday morning, we will be at the high school and will add hot chocolate to our selection.
Your children can spend time with their friends and enjoy healthy snacks, games and a movie while you enjoy three kid-free hours! Students who do not attend Valley Catholic are welcome to attend.
Dr. Darci Walker from Core Parenting, who joined us last year for a talk on setting limits and boundaries with children, will be putting together a presentation on "mindfulness in parenting," and she's looking forward to sharing with you.

We invite all parents, but especially second-grade parents, to attend our second parent and principal social in the school library on Wednesday morning (11/5) at 7:55 a.m., right after our school's morning prayer and announcements.
The Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon will pray for your departed loved ones during the month of November.
Kindergarten students will be invited to dress up in their costumes (send the costume to school and students will put them on in the afternoon), and our first- through fifth-grade students will be asked to wear Halloween colors on Friday, Oct. 31.
