Rosebud Teacher Spotlight: Kelly Risser

vcels_teacher1Born in Santa Clara California, Kelly has two sisters (one is her twin). She has two boys, Trace and Braden and has cared for infants at VCELS since December 2005. In her spare time, Kelly likes to hang out with her family, read anything Twilight, watch the Phillies or the Bears (depending on the season) and sleep in when she can.

For a treat, Kelly loves anything chocolate and Banana Cream Pie, yummy! Even though her favorite color is green, she once dyed her hair Elmo vcels_teacher2Red after her favorite Sesame Street resident.  If she had 10 minutes in front of VCHS students, she would tell them the importance of floor time versus exersaucers and bouncy chairs for infant development. “Tummy time is so important for motor development of babies because it allows them to gain head and body control which builds the foundation for crawling, standing up, walking and running. It even helps with writing later on.”

Known for her loving, gentle care of all babies, Kelly is a true asset to VCELS!
