Letter from the President: Thank You for Your Cooperation
Dear Valley Catholic School Community,
I’m sure by this point that many of you are about done reading letters, emails, and anything else written by me this week. I want to express my appreciation for the level of cooperation and understanding demonstrated by our entire school community this week as we dealt with Oregon’s version of a winter storm.
I know that the week of final exams is possibly the worst time to have weather issues, but, from all accounts, we have made it through the week without too many hiccups. I also want to say “thank you” to all of the families who have sent emails or left voice mails in support of our communication this week. I know that weeks like this are very stressful on all of us and the more communication we have the better off we will be.
So, with all of that in mind, I will try to keep things a little brief this week.
Last week I met with the Valley Catholic School Board and together we established the tuition rates for the 2012-2013 school year. I know that any increase to tuition is an additional burden for our families. One of my goals this year was to make the increase smaller than last year’s increase. We were able to accomplish this task and strongly believe that the increase we are announcing is a reasonable, responsible amount. The tuition rates across the campus will be increasing by 4.3% for the upcoming school year. The actual rates and additional information about this topic can be found here.
This Sunday our campus will be abuzz with prospective students as the Early Learning School, Elementary School, Middle School, and Music School will all be here for their annual Open House. If you have friends who are interested in Valley Catholic School (PreK–8) please encourage them to attend this event. See all the times here.
I want to encourage all of our families to attend the annual Family Mass & Banquet on Saturday, January 28. I look forward to seeing many of our families at this great community event. We need your RSVP to plan for food so please contact Volunteer Parent Laura Schultz at diggie@frontier.com.
Thank you as always for your support. Please be safe this weekend as we deal with additional weather concerns and flooding around the area.
