You can find all the info regarding jogathon results here.
ON JOGATHON DAY
We had more than 100 volunteer parents and grandparents helping throughout the day. Over 50 middle school students also volunteered by surrounding the track to encourage and cheer on everyone.
One student who was unable to run decided to swim laps in the pool during the family picnic following the event!
All students and staff were given special Jog-a-thon t-shirts with a different color for each class helping us show our school spirit.
Final totals are still being tabulated and will be announced along with prizes at the Oct. 29 assembly at 9:40 a.m., including the grand prize drawing of a laptop computer. Every class with 100 percent participation getting sponsors wins a movie party.
Thank you to our wonderful sponsors.

Parent Meg Bishop and her volunteers gave the children of Valley Catholic Elementary School a huge scare — in a good way — at the mid-October Halloween Carnival. Everyone enjoyed the classic haunts, the inflatable obstacle course, assorted games and time in the treat booth. The carnival was well attended with kids in costumes everywhere, from a cheerleader, to masked horrors, to super heroes. The haunted house remained the star attraction with long lines to get in the entire night.

Have you ever wondered what goes into the baking of a cinnamon roll? On a crisp non-school Friday, the junior Girl Scout troop #641 gathered at the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon Convent bright and early to learn just that. Sisters Ina Marie, Marianne and their assistant Emily were the leaders of the day for 12 fifth-grade girls from Valley Catholic Elementary school. The troop has been together for six years and is working on obtaining their bronze award which is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn. It will take them three years to complete and many service hours.

The Sisters taught the girls how to roll out the dough, and butter and sprinkle it with cinnamon, sugar, dried fruit and walnuts. After cutting the dough in slices and placing it on cookie sheets, the next step was to let it all rise in the proofer. Once the rolls were baked, the girls were given one each on a plate to take home and enjoy. At the end of the session the girls were all smiles and maybe even a budding baker or two in the group. Many thanks to the Sisters for passing on the art of baking to the next generation.
