Music School

Valley Catholic Music School

Our Music School for teaching private lessons is located in the west wing of the Convent of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon. Our diverse faculty attract talented students from throughout the Portland metropolitan area. We strive to make music education available to everyone who is interested through scholarships, summer programs, and instrument rental. In addition, Valley Catholic Music School serves the community at large through classes and programs for students from other schools and area adults. Valley Catholic Music School staff and alumni have performed at venues ranging from Timber Soccer Games to the Oregon State Capitol. In addition to these special events, all music students have three opportunities for public performance each year. We invite you to come see them perform!

K-12 Music Programs Taught in Valley Catholic School

The Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon have a long tradition of fostering and encouraging music and the arts through our schools. From Kindergarten through high school, our students have numerous opportunities to listen to, appreciate, and play music.

All of our fourth grade students take violin, and students in all grades can participate in choir, orchestra, and private lessons in any orchestral instrument. High school students can also pursue musical theory, band, jazz band, pep band, women's chorale, varsity singers, string ensemble and handbells and can even earn a varsity letter in Music.
