Sr. Juliana Monti
Sr. Juliana Monti, who serves as Chairwoman of the Fine Arts Department, Director of Choirs, Director of the Valley Catholic Music School, and teacher of the High School and Middle School Choirs, has taught music at Valley Catholic since 1970. With Sr. John Therese Miller, she founded Valley Catholic’s band program. After graduating from St. Mary’s Academy in Portland, Sr. Juliana earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Marylhurst University and a Master’s Degree, also in Music Education, from The University of Portland, did post-graduate work at the University of Oregon and Oregon State, and has studied at workshops under Rodney Eichenberger, Dr. Rene Clausen, Dr. Howard Swan, and Roger Wagner. Sr Juliana enjoys playing the organ, reading, fishing, horses, sports, art, and travel.
