Sr. M. Ellen Therese Berger, SSMO
Sr. Ellen Therese Berger will serve as the 1K Instructional Assistant in the mornings and the Library Assistant in the afternoons. The Library Assistant position is new. Sr. Ellen Therese has been a primary grade teacher for 32 years. She began her teaching career here at our school, teaching 3rd grade for eight years and 1st grade for five years. From here, Sister moved to St. Mary’s Catholic School in Stayton, where she taught 1st grade and kindergarten during her 11-year stay. Following her sabbatical, Sister filled in for Sr. Denise back here and taught music for four months. Sister then moved to Holy Redeemer Catholic School in NE Portland, where she taught kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade during the past eight years. Sr. Ellen Therese was born in Rapid City, SD. Her family moved west by way of Montana, Washington, and Oregon, where she has lived since she was eight years old. Sister has been a SSMO for 42 years. She is very excited to be coming back home to live with her community and to work on the same campus where she started her teaching ministry.
