Kelly Alfieri

Kelly AlfieriKelly has been Valley Catholic’s Assistant Athletic Director since July 2011 and the CYO director for VCS since 2008. This year Kelly will teach one section of sixth grade physical education. Kelly has been a member of the school community since 1997 when the first of her six children began attending VCS. In addition, Kelly has served on the PTC in the elementary school, co-chaired the auction classroom projects for three years, and, for nine years, devoted most of her volunteer efforts to founding and chairing the very successful Valley Catholic Elementary School Jog-a-thon.

Not only does Kelly have long experience working in athletics for Valley Catholic, but she has a distinguished athletic career of her own. She was a three-sport varsity athlete at Hillsboro High School, earning four letters in cross country and track and two in basketball. She was an All-State athlete in track and still holds school records in the 400m and 300m hurdles. At graduation in 1984 she was named Hillsboro High’s Athlete of the Year and Scholar Athlete.

Following high school, Kelly earned an athletic scholarship to Oregon State University where she competed for the track team and focused on the 400m hurdles. Among her highlights were setting meet records and qualifying for the Pac-10 Championships before they eliminated their track program. Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and worked for OHSU’s Human Performance Laboratory before becoming a full-time mother.
