Claudia Kolb Thomas

Claudia ThomasClaudia Kolb Thomas became the High School Admissions Director in 2003, after moving from Spokane, where she was St. George’s School Athletic Director for ten years and led St. George’s to four Washington State All-Sport Championships.  Claudia grew up swimming for the Santa Clara Swim Club; she won a silver medal in the 200-meter breaststroke in the Tokyo Olympics and two gold medals, in the 200 and 400-meter individual medleys, in the Mexico City games.  After retiring from competition, Claudia coached at Santa Clara Swim Club until she joined Stanford University’s staff, first as an assistant to the men’s and women’s swim teams.  She then became head women’s coach and led the Cardinal to a National Championship.  Claudia and her husband Ross have three sons and a daughter-in- law and grandson in Kyoto with their oldest son.  Claudia enjoys cooking, reading, walking their dog, sports, and squeezing in as many visits as possible with her mom and very large family, most of whom live in California.
