Collin Heade

Collin HeadeCollin G. Heade, a native Oregonian with a bachelor’s of arts in performance from Portland State University, is in his sixth year as conductor and artistic director of the North Oregon Coast Symphony (NOCS). He is principal cellist for the Oregon Chamber Players (OCP) as well as Willamette Falls Symphony (WFS), where he is also associate conductor. Collin is music director of the Astoria Chamber Players (ACP), which just wrapped up its third season. This summer Collin will be touring Austria and the Czech Republic as principal cellist with the Oregon Arts Orchestra and a quartet composed of OAO members. Concerts will take place in Vienna, Salzburg and Prague.  In the fall of 2011 he will also be heading up and conducting Westside Community & Youth Orchestra in Hillsboro.

A member of the American String Teacher Association and Oregon Cello Society, Collin teaches privately at his home studio in Portland, at Valley Catholic Music School in Beaverton, and in Astoria. Collin lives with his wife of 36 years, Cameretta, and 13-year-old white Alaskan malamute, Jessy. His daughter Julie has just accepted a fund raiser staff position at DoveLewis, an emergency and intensive care animal hospital located in Portland and Lincoln City.
