Amy Lacks

Amy LacksAmy Lacks, who came to Valley Catholic in 2009, teaches Biology and Advanced Placement Biology. Amy graduated from Duke University with honors in Biology. After spending a couple of years teaching and conducting marine biology research in California and New Zealand, she received her M.S. in Zoology from the University of Hawaii. Her masters research focused on the reproductive ecology of coral. After graduate school, Amy moved to San Francisco where she taught Biology at Drew School for eight years. While at Drew, Amy developed a Marine Biology and Molecular Biology courses and taught field courses in Hawaii, Belize, and the Galapagos Islands. At Valley, Amy advises the Science Club and is co-chair of the Sustainability Committee. When not teaching, Amy enjoys SCUBA diving, hiking, cooking, dancing, and spending time with her daughter Dahlia.
