Madeleine Gendron is a French Canadian, born and raised in Quebec City, Quebec. She comes from two families of musical talent and background. Most of her numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews play one or many instruments, not only as a hobby but as careers. She loves to tell stories about their adventures.
She has been in Oregon for 17 years and joined OMTA (Oregon Music Teacher Association) right away. Since she started with them they have grown, and she is proud to be a member. She has used their syllabus in voice, cello and violin and still uses the piano jazz and classical syllabus.
At Valley Catholic Music School since 2008, she teaches her primary instrument, piano, for 36 students from kindergarten through 11th grade. She also teaches in piano and violin to children and adults at their homes and offers a class for toddlers at House of Montessori in Aloha. Other activities she enjoys are practicing and playing instruments with her children and singing in the contemporary Mass at Holy Trinity.
In the past Madeleine has been a music minister in different Catholic and Protestant Parishes as accompanist, cantor or vocalist. She also had her own music school offering all string instruments, piano, guitar and voice in Vernonia. She stays involved in her community, organizing string orchestra, community choir and band.
Music is her passion. She is happy to be part of the Valley Catholic community and offers all her energy for the students and their parents to grow in music.
